After coming back from The Hague Model United Nations I can definitely say I have gained a lot of knowledge. I was chairing the GA5 committee in which I learned new skills and developed previous skills that I already had. A great example of a skill that I attained was to remain calm during stressful situations. A problem that I had previously was that when a situation became congested or too much for me to handle I would start to panic and freak out. In the THIMUN week, many things were unprepared that we had to take control off such as printing resolutions last minute. I learned that to remain calm was the best option as it gave me time to think and also made the situation ease out. It was a well collaborated and fun week of sharing information, creating resolutions, debating, and finally passing ideas on wards. I met a lot of new people and had a remarkable time in The Haage this year, and I felt that the chairing position made me stronger in terms of knowledge to better lead the DARMUN conference back home in Dar es Salaam.
