This year Aahil Velani and I are taking over the AMMUN delegates in the stages to prepare them for the conference. This is the 14th AMMUN conference taking place and the thrid AMMUN conference that the International School of Tanganyika has been to. What Aahil and I are planning to do is to prepare the delegates in the following aspects so that they are well prepared for the conference in October.
1. Speaking skills - Formal debates taking place in Monday sessions
2. Resolutions writing skills - Homework and sessions dedicated to reso writing.
3. Improvisational Skills - Small circles with quick activities will help in attaining those skills.
4. Dressing sense - General talks with questions.
5. Researching Skills - Country research through homework for the first few sessions
6. Following rules - Over time with each session.
I feel that these six things are extremely important for the students to learn before they go and it is my goal to ensure that they learn all of these six skills before they head out the AMMUN conference. I will attain my goal by making sure that they all go through process of completing the homework and participating in - in-class activities that will help them grow as delegates. Aahil and I have been organized and on task in planning sessions, coordinating, and also ensuring that we attend to all the problems that student in the team are facing. A few problems that I still face are that we are having problems communicating with the AMMUN team which is slowing us down. We still do not have an idea who has got a special position which is making it tough for us to plan forward. For next time it would be great to find a way to tackle this issue and ensure that our communication with AMMUN is strong.
