DARMUN (Dar Es Salaam Model United Nations) is coming near on the 18th of April. I have been appointed by Mr. Tate and Miss Maro as the manager and organizer of the event on the day itself. I have learnt a lot of things whilst being in this position. One of the many skills I learnt whilst being the organizer was bargaining skills when talking to the catering company and the lanyards company. I negotiated prices down by a lot and ensured that we had a deal with a receipt and proof. Another difficult thing whilst doing this was definitely looking at how to manage my time as IB one is getting tougher. I took time out on Monday and started to prioritize which activity is more important and started to plan accordingly. In general this position was a great way to learn a few quick handy tricks such as bargaining, approaching businesses, and speaking skills which I feel are very crucial skills that everyone should learn at young age so that they can use it in the future for their career.
